Christmas Song words

Frosty the Snow Man

Frosty the Snow Man, was a jolly happy soul

With a corn-cob pipe and a button nose and two eyes made out of coal.

Frosty the Snow Man, is a fairy tale they say

He was made of snow, but the children know how he came to life one day.

There must have been some magic in that old silk hat they found,

For when they put it on his head he began to dance around.

Oh, Frosty the Snow Man was alive as he could be,

And the children say he could laugh and play just the same as you and me.

Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer

Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, had a very shiny nose,

and if you ever saw it, you would even say it glows

All of the other reindeer Used to laugh and call him names,

They never let poor Rudolph, Join in any reindeer games

Then one foggy Christmas Eve, Santa came to say,

“Rudolph with your nose so bright, won’t you guide my sleigh tonight?”

Then how the reindeer loved him, as they shouted out with glee,

“Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, you’ll go down in history.”

Jingle Bells

Jingle bells, jingle bells,  Jingle all the way!

O what fun it is to ride In a one-horse open sleigh, hey!

Jingle bells, jingle bells,  Jingle all the way!

O what fun it is to ride In a one-horse open sleigh

Dashing through the snow, in a one-horse open sleigh,

O’er the fields we go, laughing all the way.

Bells on bob-tails ring, making spirits bright,

What fun it is to ride and sing a sleighing song tonight. Oh!

Jingle bells, jingle bells, Jingle all the way!

O what fun it is to rideIn a one-horse open sleigh, hey!

Away in a Manger

Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,

The little Lord Jesus, lay down his sweet head

The stars in the bright sky, looked down where He lay

The little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay

The cattle are lowing, the poor baby wakes

But little Lord Jesus,   no crying he makes

I love Thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky

And stay by my cradle, ’til morning is    nigh

Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask thee to stay

Close by me forever, and love me  I  pray

Bless all the dear children, in thy tender care

And take us to heaven, to live with thee there

I Saw Three Ships

I saw three ships come sailing in             On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;

I saw three ships come sailing in             On Christmas Day in the morning.

And what was in those ships all three,    On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day?

And what was in those ships all three,    On Christmas Day in the morning?

O they sailed into Bethlehem,                  On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;

O they sailed into Bethlehem,                  On Christmas Day in the morning.

And all the bells on earth shall ring,         On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;

And all the bells on earth shall ring,         On Christmas Day in the morning.

Good King Wenceslas

Good King Wenceslas looked out, on the feast of Stephen

When the snow lay round about, deep and crisp and even.

Brightly shown the moon that night, though the frost was cruel,

When a poor man came in sight, gathering winter fuel

Bring me flesh, and bring me wine, bring me pine logs hither.

Thou and I will see him dine, when we bear the thither.

Page and monarch, forth they went, forth they went together

Through the rude wind’s wild lament, and the bitter weather.

Sire, the night is darker now, and the wind blows stronger.

Fails my heart, I know not how, I can go no longer.

Ark my footsteps my good page, tread thou in them boldly:

Thou shalt find the winter’s rage, freeze thy blood less coldly.

Silent night!

Intro: – Piano

Silent night! Holy night!                             All is calm all is bright

Round yon virgin mother and child          Holy infant so tender and mild

Sleep in heavenly peace!                         Sleep in heavenly peace!

Silent night! Holy night!                             Shepherds quake at the sight

Glories stream from heaven afar             Heavenly hosts sing Hallelujah

Christ the Saviour is born!                        Christ the Saviour is born!

Silent night! Holy night!                             Son of God love’s pure light

Radiant beams from thy holy face           With the dawn of redeeming grace

Jesus lord at thy birth!                               Jesus lord at thy birth!

O Little Town of Bethlehem

O little town of Bethlehem,    how still we see thee lie

Above thy deep and dreamless sleep, the silent stars go by

Yet in thy dark streets shineth, the everlasting Light

The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight

(SUNG QUIETLY)

How silently, how silently, the wondrous gift is given!

So God imparts to human hearts, the blessings of His heaven.

No ear may hear his coming, but in this world of sin,

Where meek souls will receive him still, the dear Christ enters in.

O holy Child of Bethlehem, descend to us, we pray

Cast out our sin and enter in, be born to us today

We hear the Christmas angels, the great glad tidings tell

O come to us, abide with us, our Lord Emmanuel

We three kings

We three kings of Orient are, bearing gifts we traverse afar

Field and fountain, moor and mountain, following yonder star

Oh, Star of wonder, star of night, Star with royal beauty bright

Westward leading, still proceeding, guide us to thy Perfect Light

Frankincense to offer have I, incense owns a Deity nigh

Prayer and praising, all men raising, worship him, God most high

Oh, Star of wonder, star of night, Star with royal beauty bright

Westward leading, still proceeding, guide us to thy Perfect Light

Myrrh is mine, its bitter perfume, breathes of life of gathering gloom

Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding, dying, sealed in the stone-cold tomb

Oh, Star of wonder, star of night, Star with royal beauty bright

Westward leading, still proceeding, guide us to thy Perfect Light

Glorious now behold Him arise, King and God and Sacrifice

Alleluia, Alleluia, earth to heav’n replies

Oh, Star of wonder, star of night, Star with royal beauty bright

Westward leading, still proceeding, guide us to thy Perfect Light

Let It Snow

Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful,

And since we’ve no place to go, Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

It doesn’t show signs of stopping, and I brought some corn for popping.

The lights are turned way down low, Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

When we finally kiss good night, how I’ll hate going out in the storm.

But if you really hold me tight, all the way home I’ll be warm.

The fire is slowly dying, and, my dear, we’re still goodbye-ing,

But as long as you love me so, Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Merry Christmas Everybody

Does a ‘ton up’ on his sleigh

Do the fairies keep him sober for a day?

Last Christmas

Last Christmas, I gave you my heart

But the very next day, you gave it away

This year, to save me from tears

I’ll give it to someone special

Last Christmas, I gave you my heart

But the very next day, you gave it away

This year, to save me from tears

I’ll give it to someone special (special)

Once bitten and twice shy

I keep my distance but you still catch my eye

Tell me baby do you recognize me?

Well it’s been a year, it doesn’t surprise me

Last Christmas I wrapped it up and sent it

With a note saying “I Love You” I meant it

Now I know what a fool I’ve been

But if you kissed me now I know you’d fool me again

Instrumental over 1 verse

Last Christmas, I gave you my heart

But the very next day, you gave it away

This year, to save me from tears

I’ll give it to someone special (special)

Rocking around the Christmas tree

Rocking around the Christmas tree at the Christmas party hop

Mistletoe hung where you can see every couple tries to stop

Rocking around the Christmas tree, let the Christmas spirit ring

Later we’ll have some pumpkin pie and we’ll do some caroling

You will get a sentimental feeling when you hear

Voices singing let’s be jolly, deck the halls with boughs of holly

Rocking around the Christmas tree, have a happy holiday

Everyone dancing merrily in the new old-fashioned way

Holly Jolly Christmas

Have a holly, jolly Christmas, it’s the best time of the year,

I don’t know if there’ll be snow, but have a cup of cheer.

Have a holly, jolly Christmas, and when you walk down the street,

Say hello to friends you know and everyone you meet.

Hey, ho, the mistletoe, hung where you can see,

Somebody’s waiting there, kiss them once for me.

Have a holly, jolly Christmas and in case you didn’t hear,

Oh, by golly, have a holly, jolly Christmas this year

Instrumental over verse 1 & 2

(SLOW)

Hey, ho, the mistletoe, hung where you can see,

Somebody’s waiting there, kiss them once for me.

Have a holly, jolly Christmas and in case you didn’t hear,

Oh, by golly, have a hol-ly, jol-ly Christ-mas this year

All I want for Christmas

I don’t want a lot for Christmas, there is just one thing I need

I don’t care about the presents, underneath the Christmas tree

I just want you for my own, more than you could ever know

Make my wish come true, all I want for Christmas is…You yeah

I don’t want a lot for Christmas, there is just one thing I need

(and I…) don’t care about the presents, underneath the Christmas tree

I don’t need to hang my stocking, there upon the fireplace

Santa Claus won’t make me happy, with a toy on Christmas day

I just want you for my own (ooh…) More than you could ever know

Make my wish come true,            All I want for Christmas is you, You, baby

Oh, I won’t ask for much this Christmas, I won’t even wish for snow

(and I…) I’m just gonna keep on waiting, underneath the mistletoe

I won’t make a list and send it, to the North Pole for Saint Nick

(I…) I won’t even stay awake to hear those magic reindeer click

I just want you for my own (ooh…) More than you could ever know

Make my wish come true,            All I want for Christmas is you, You, baby

All the lights are shining so brightly everywhere

And the sound of children’s laughter fills the air

And everyone is singing, I hear those sleigh bells ringing

Santa won’t you bring me the one I really need, won’t you please bring my baby to me…

Oh, I don’t want a lot for Christmas, this is all I’m asking for

(I…) I just want to see my baby, standing right outside my door

I just want you for my own (ooh…) more than you could ever know

Make my wish come true, all I want for Christmas, is……   You   (You, baby)

(All I want for Christmas is you… baby)

White Christmas

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones I used to know

Where the treetops glisten, and children listen, to hear, sleigh bells in the snow

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas, with every Christmas card I write

May your days be merry and bright, and may all your, Christmases be white

Instrumental

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas, with every Christmas card I write

May your days be merry and bright, and may all your, Christmases be white

Stop The Cavalry

Hey, Mr. Churchill, comes over here, to say we’re doing splendidly.

But it’s very cold, out here in the snow, marching to and from the enemy.

Oh, I say it’s tough; I have had enough, can you stop the cavalry?

Instrumental

I have had to fight, almost every night, down throughout these centuries.

That is when I say, oh yes, yet again; can you stop the cavalry?

Instrumental

I Wish it could be Christmas every-day

When the snowman brings the snow,

Well he just might like to know;

He’s put a great big smile up-on somebody’s face.

If you jump into your bed; quickly cover up your head.

Don’t you lock the doors;

You know sweet Santa Claus is on the way.

Well I…Wish it could be Christmas every-day,

When the kids start singing and the band begins to play.

Well I wish it could be Christmas every-day.

So let the bells, ring out for Christmas.

When we’re skating in the park,

If the snow cloud paints it dark;

Then your rosey cheeks will light my merry way.

Now the frosticals appeared,

And they’ve frozen up my beard,

So we’ll lie by the fire,

‘Till the sleep simply melts them all a-way.

CHORUS

Instrumental

When the snowman brings the snow,

Well he just might like to know;

He’s put a great big smile up-on somebody’s face.

So if Santa brings that sleigh,

All a-long The Milky Way,

I’ll sign my name on the rooftop, in the snow,

Then he might decide to stay.

CHORUS

CHORUS

Why don’t you give… Your love, for…Christmas?

Do They Know Its Christmas?

It’s Christmas time, there’s no need to be afraid

At Christmas time, we let in light and we banish shade

And in our world of plenty we can spread a smile of joy

Throw your arms around the world at Christmas time

But say a prayer, Pray for the other ones

At Christmas time it’s hard, but when you’re having fun

There’s a world outside your window and it’s a world of dread and fear

Where the only water flowing Is the bitter sting of tears

And the Christmas bells that ring there Are the clanging chimes of doom

Well tonight thank god its them instead of you

And there won’t be snow in Africa this Christmastime

The greatest gift they’ll get this year is life, oh

Oh, where nothing ever grows, no rain or rivers flow

Do they know it’s Christmastime at all?

Here’s to you, raise a glass for everyone

Here’s to them, underneath that burning sun

Do they know its Christmas time at all?

(Short Instrumental)

Feed the world    Let them know it’s Christmas time

Feed the world    Let them know it’s Christmas time

Feed the world    Let them know it’s Christmas time

Feed the world    Let them know it’s Christmas time  ……again

Fairy-tale of New York

(Green = male voices)          (Red = female voices)      (Black = both)

It was Christmas Eve babe, In the drunk tank,

An old man said to me, won’t see another one

And then he sang a song, the Rare Old Mountain Dew

I turned my face away and dreamed about you

Got on a lucky one, came in eighteen to one

I’ve got a feeling this year’s for me and you

So happy Christmas, I love you baby

I can see a better time when all our dreams come true

(Short Instrumental with change of temp )

They’ve got cars big as bars they’ve got rivers of gold

But the wind goes right through you, it’s no place for the old

When you first took my hand on a cold Christmas eve

You promised me Broadway was waiting for me

You were handsome You were pretty Queen of New York City

When the band finished playing they howled out for more

Sinatra was swinging, all the drunks they were singing

We kissed on the corner, then danced through the night

The boys of the NYPD choir Were singing ‘Galway Bay’

And the bells were ringing out for Christmas day

(Short Instrumental)

You’re a bum You’re a punk You’re an old slut on junk

Living there almost dead on a drip in that bed

You scum bag, you maggot, you cheap lousy faggot

Happy Christmas your arse I pray God it’s our last

The boys of the NYPD choir were singing ‘Galway Bay’

And the bells were ringing out for Christmas day

(Short Instrumental with change of temp )

I could have been someone,  well so could anyone

You took my dreams from me, when I first found you

I kept them with me babe I put them with my own

Can’t make it all alone I’ve built my dreams around you

The boys of the NYPD choir Were singing ‘Galway Bay’

And the bells were ringing out for Christmas day

The boys of the NYPD choir Were singing ‘Galway Bay’

And the bells were ringing out for Christmas day
